Abiword can`t open document .doc

Bug Description

Whe try open attached .doc file Abiword freeze with 50% of CPU usage. With OpenOffice Writer i can open it fine.

Ubuntu Intrepid ibex 8.10

Checked and confirmed it. Abiword exponentially leaked memory, not only in RAM but also in swap. Used about 200MB+MB RAM and 200+MB swap.

What's in the file anyway?

This is a tutorial from SAP ( www.sap.com ), the document have several pictures. You can open it using OpenOffice Writer.

The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Jaunty Jackalope. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. I was able to open the document using AbiWord with 3GB ram. I did this with Xubuntu Jaunty development version and AbiWord 2.6.6. It did take a few minutes for the document to open. There are indeed many images in the file.

Please comment why or how this is fixed if you change the status to "Fix Released". The Abiword bug is not fixed. I am changing this back to triaged until a comment is added.

Hi, Charlie

  I try open the file, and with AbiWord 2.6.6 this is opening fine ( with ~400MB RAM ) and faster. So for me this is fixed.
