Bug Description
Product: Dapper 12/18/05 build
Computer is older PIII with Asus motherboard. I have a Maxtor 60G harddrive attached to a PCI controller card which
makes the hard drive seen as /dev/hde.The controller is a Promise 100TX. During the hardware detection, installer
stops with message "cannot find a harddisk controller". There are 2 PDC modules listed "new" and "old" but neither
work (ie, you select and enter and the same message repeats).

I tried rebooting with a Dapper install already on the hard drive using kernel 2.6.15-8 and got the following boot errors: 0xb807, 0xb402 on irq 12 irq/manage. c:126 irq+0x4b/ 0xd0 0x3ea/0x4c0 init+0X69/ 0X156 init+0x5/ 0xd [ide_generic] call+0x7/ 0xb
