downloads should be grouped by release, not series

Bug Description

At present, the project downloads page has a heading and table per release series. See for example <http://edge.launchpad.net/bzr/+download> (and screenshot). For a series with multiple releases, and multiple packaging formats for each release, as here, this makes it quite confusing for users.

I think it would be better if there was one table for each release, containing just the files for that release. You could then either include or link to the metadata for the release, such as the changelog.

Also, the 1.7 release in this table has a circular icon next to it but it's not clear what it means as there is no tooltip or link.

This looks a lot better. I think there is still quite a lot of emphasis of series though, and it contributes to this page having a very cluttered structure.

Could we maybe just say "2.0cr1 release (from series 2.0)" rather than separate headings for the series? That would also fix the problem of trunk series cluttering up the page and make the structure more explicit. Is there a counterexample where this would be bad?

I can do that, but then I would probably have to remove the series description, as it wouldn't fit nicely anywhere, AFAICS. This should not be a big deal as I'm including some info about the releases there (bug 419742).

I'm not sure about other projects, but I think generally the release description is going to be more meaningful to users than the release description. Also removing it will implicitly fix bug 419735.
