Kernel panic on 8.10 beta

Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-kernel-headers

I tried using the Xubuntu 8.10 Intrepid beta from my USB drive. When booting with persistent mode enabled it gets to the auto-login, when the screen turns blue while loading the desktop I suddenly can't move the cursor anymore and my Caps Lock and Scroll Lock lights on my keyboard are blinking - I'm told this is a kernel panic.

When I just boot in live mode (i.e. like a LiveCD) I manage to login and the desktop loads, but after playing around a little bit the same thing happened and I had to forcibly turn off the computer again.

As this was all in a live session mode most of the commands from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies probably won't work, but I've attached the output of sudo lspci -vvnn when entered in the installation of Xubuntu 8.04 Hardy.

If there's anything else I can do to help, do tell :)

PS. I wasn't quite sure against which source package to report this...

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the final release of Intrepid Ibex 8.10. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks again and we appreciate your help.

Unfortunately, I can't, since I have another computer right now on which it works (also, I'm now using a different method to create a persistent drive, namely usb-creator).
