Bug Description
Hi,
You have Jigdo files and templates available for the CD versions of all the
installation media (all supported platforms) for 5.10, as well as for derived
distributions like Kubuntu/Edubuntu etc. This fascility is not available for the
Live/DVD install images of 5.10, although I do see that it is being planned for
Dapper (a good thing, thanks in advance!). Since Breezy has been released (in
other words whatever is on the DVD images is considered "stable" in the sense
that it won't change), not having Jigdo files for all the DVD images should be
considered to be a serious bug.
Downloading the DVD images via Jigdo has countless advantages, especially in
bandwidth-
countries (i.e. rest of Africa, South America, etc.). Downloading via Jigdo will
also side-step the problem we have with mirrors that doesn't support download
resuming (another bug IMHO, especially when you take into account the size of
DVD ISO images). Jigdo allows one to do a crude form of load balancing from the
client level, especially if the .jigdo file has a list of all available download
mirrors.
In closing, seriously consider adding Jigdo files for existing DVD images! It
will help us all immensely. Both OpenSuSE and Debian makes good use of this
fascility across the board, so why do you only offer partial support for this?
Thanks in advance!

Jan Henkins
