Bug Description

I’m running intrepid, opensync 0.22-2, opensync-plugin-gnokii 0.22-1, libgnokii3 0.6.26.dfsg-2.

When entries are synchronized from the phone (Nokia 6220) to evolution/file-sync, any umlauts are replaced with question marks.

When entries are synchronized to the phone, any umlauts are replaced with the letter preceding them repeated.

‘gnokii --getphonebook ME 1 end -v’ prints the umlauts just fine.

In the discussion at http://opensync.org/ticket/809, it became clear that the bug is in gnokii 0.6.26 and has been fixed in 0.6.27.

Could gnokii 0.6.27 still make it into intrepid, or must the fix be backported to 0.6.26?

libgnokii 0.6.27 has a new SONAME; a no-change rebuild of libopensync-plugin-gnokii would be needed.

Hi,

I've duplicated this bug to the sync request that will pull
in the fix from Debian.

Thanks,

James
