Bug Description

prior use, an ath0 device must be created using wlanconfig due to the way the
Atheros driver works (see http://madwifi.org/wiki/UserDocs/GettingMadwifi),
otherwise it does not work.

actually not sure if this is still valid. I no longer use the provided driver anyway.

madwifi now creates a default station-class interface when it's initialised, so wlanconfig is only needed if you want more than one interface or want to do something fancy like set up an AP.
