Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.27-7-generic

I have to report, that i have no sound with my brand new installation from [k]ubuntu. Also in kde I have no volume control, only a switch for mute the front (output?!). On other distributions/kernels (before i used Debian sarge -> etch -> lenny) i don't had such problems.

It is not possible to select 2ch/6ch and the headphone frontoutput does not work.

Anything helpful to read out?

This hardware has always had problems with Ubuntu. Currently for me in Intrepid, the alsamixer bug has been fixed, but now some sounds (like alerts from Pidgin) skip.

for me the mixer problem is not solved :-(
But I have now sound, when i use the full mixer from kde and regulate PCM Mixer and switch the mute control.

But when I click on the kde system tray icon for the speaker, I not get no control for the volume.

I cant also not select in kmix a other control.. im not sure, but I think it is a also specific problem, which reports a wrong master mixer?

Hi Thomas,

The kernel related issue of there being no sound appears to be resolved here. If you have other issues related to alsamixer it would be best to open a new bug report against that package. Thanks.
