[intrepid] Replace icedtea-gcjwebplugin with icedtea6-plugin in gnome-app-install/ubufox

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-app-install

icedtea-gcjwebplugin _conflicts_ with icedtea6-plugin, even though it's supposed to be a transitional package. Please thus replace icedtea-gcjwebplugin with icedtea6-plugin in gnome-app-install.

An alternative would be fixing icedtea-gcjwebplugin to install icedtea6-plugin correctly.

This was fixed. Possibly something should be done for the transitional package if wanted.

When I use Firefox to view a site that uses java. Firefox gives me an option to install 'icedtea-gcjwebplugin'. The installation stops with an error to do with unresolved dependencies. Should Firefox use 'icedtea6-plugin' to install rather than 'icedtea-gcjwebplugin' ?

ubufox recommends packages based on the archive metadata, which has been updated now so that icedtea6-plugin is shown as implementing the necessary java mime types and icedtea-gcjwebplugin is not. I don't think there's anything further that needs to be changed in ubufox, marking this task as invalid.

How do we go about fixing the error when Firefox requests icedtea-gcjwebplugin?
The Synaptic package manager also errors out when trying to install it. I know that installing icedtea6-plugin would get rid of the issue for me, but its not great for people joining this distro that would like reasonable java support.

Hi Alexander, bug 291417 does not cover the issue with the packages not installing. Plus bug 291417 was on i386 not AMD64.

I have raised bug 292432.
