Bug Description
Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.24
Since today any usb device does not mount automatically anymore. When I plug in an usb stick dmesg tells me
[ 182.317205] usb 3-5: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 2
[ 182.429339] usb 3-5: device descriptor read/64, error -32
[ 182.644556] usb 3-5: device descriptor read/64, error -32
[ 182.860140] usb 3-5: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 3
[ 182.971927] usb 3-5: device descriptor read/64, error -32
[ 183.188552] usb 3-5: device descriptor read/64, error -32
[ 183.403076] usb 3-5: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4
[ 183.810256] usb 3-5: device not accepting address 4, error -32
[ 183.922083] usb 3-5: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 5
[ 184.333226] usb 3-5: device not accepting address 5, error -32
In /var/log/messages I see
Oct 20 21:15:39 dorpm kernel: [ 182.317205] usb 3-5: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 2
Oct 20 21:15:39 dorpm kernel: [ 182.860140] usb 3-5: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 3
Oct 20 21:15:40 dorpm kernel: [ 183.403076] usb 3-5: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4
Oct 20 21:15:40 dorpm kernel: [ 183.922083] usb 3-5: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 5
Google gave me the workaround to do a "sudo modprobe -r ehci_hcd". This works for some reason but I cannot use my usb-dvb-t with this.
Please let me know if any more information is needed.
Florian
I forgot to mention that after the "sudo modprobe -r ehci_hcd" copying to or from the usb-stick is very slow, like usb 1.1.
