Bug Description

Binary package hint: pidgin

If I try to launch pidgin I got:

ERROR: Caught a segmentation fault while loading plugin file:
/usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstlibvisual.so

Please either:
- remove it and restart.
- run with --gst-disable-segtrap and debug.

If I remove file /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstlibvisual.so and try again, it works. It's up-to-date ubuntu intrepid running on x86 machine (32 bit mode), version of pidgin is 1:2.5.1-0ubuntu3 version of gstreamer0.10-plugins-base is 0.10.21-1

Confirming.
I get the same error with sound-juicer, so it's likely to be not pidgin's fault really. Therefore I'm assigning it to gst-plugins-base0.10 instead.

Changed in pidgin:
importance: Undecided → High
status: New → Triaged
