Hmmm, it's the auto-crash report that did open this... so I really have no clue. All I did was reboot my system.

it's reproducable upon every reboot... I can't remember that there was a reboot and Kontact did not crash then.

Confirming based on duplication. There seem to be multiple bug reports all reporting the same thing. All the ones I've found so far are on amd64

bug 285016 reports the same bug on i386 so it isn't limited to amd64

I've managed to reproduce this on my machine. A full reboot isn't required. Log out and log back in is sufficient to induce the crash. Backtrace attached.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start Kontact
2. Leave Kontact window open and log out
3. Log back in.
4. KDE crash handler appears

My system is Kubuntu 8.10
kontact --version
Qt: 4.4.3
KDE: 4.1.2 (KDE 4.1.2)
Kontact: 1.3

Same problem here, reproducible on all my computers. I notice that the bug started to appear after the latest update of the kmail/kdepim packages in Intrepid. This happens either with KDEWallet open or not.

My system :
Kubuntu 8.10
i386.
KDE: 4.1.2
Kontact: 1.3

Time for the regular new version survey. Does anyone still experience this crash with either KDE4.1.4 or KDE4.2rc1?
Personally I haven't seen this one for a while. I just tried to reproduce it deliberately on KDE4.2rc1 and was unable to do so

Happend today with latest Alpha 6 upgrades when I was using gimp and scribus. I think this is a plasma / xorg crash while I was moving scaling windows. It crashed xorg-plasma and then said it was kontact

This crash happened on bootup. I don't have a clue why. My processor is an AMD 9600 Quad 64/32bit. 8gb ram. SATA HDD. 9600 Gforce. I am Jaunty Beta current. KDE 4.2.2.
