product search does not find substring matches

Bug Description
ex:
from
https:/
claims " Enter any part of the product name, title or description"
entering "firefox" gets me:
* webcalendar
* theme-switch
* firefox
(the sorting of this is another issue, firefox should be listed first as an exact match)
but if I just enter "fire" i get:
No products matching “fire” were found. You can register a new product
Either the description on the search box is wrong, or search is badly buggy.

it's probably okay to substring match on the product name; ordering the results may be more difficult but I'm game for trying.
