Bug Description

Binary package hint: gdm

I did a fresh install of Ubuntu-8.10. Then I opened the menu entry "System->Administration->Login Window" and typed in my password.

In the Login Window Preferences window I selected the tab "Local", selected the theme "Human List" and closed the window.

I logged out and noticed that a completely different theme was active.

I logged in and again opened the menu entry "System->Administration->Login Window" and selected the tab "Local". To my surprise, the Theme combobox was set to "Random from selected" instead of "Selected only" (which was selected when I closed the dialog) and the selected themes were "Circles" and "Happy GNOME" instead of the previously selected "Human List".

I can reproduce the bug always (I have a snapshot in a VirtualBox here...)

I can confirm this behavior also on Ubuntu 8.10. The first time I set the Human List theme resulted in it saving the incorrect settings. The correct settings were saved the second time I tried selecting the Human List theme.
