Bug Description

When I boot the live CD Kubuntu 8.10, the /var/log/Xorg.0.log keeps growing.
I'm adding one copied soon after boot, the "diff" file how it has grown couple of seconds latter (like every 5 or 10s), and the current size after several minutes is 2.2MB:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2.2M 2008-11-11 09:40 /var/log/Xorg.0.log

I do have two LCDs connected, one trough D-sub cable, one trough DVI which is converted to D-sub by cable.

that's hardly a bug, logs tend to grow.

Good joke. Or defective by design. I hope it's the first one.

that happens when some application probes the outputs, so guessing there's something wrong with KDE which makes it do that.

Install xterm -> logout -> login into failsafe session -> check if it also appears there

If it does, make a list of all applications running in KDE (e.g. ps -A) and attach the .xsession-errors file to this bug report.

Also considering the Xorg log gets rotated I doubt this would ever become a real issue (e.g. Xorg.log eating all your space).
