Bug Description

KWin fades the menu's to gray/black. As a result, if there is a bright background behind, the menu fades into a black rectangle which dissolves slowly. -- See screenshot of disappearing menu - notice how dark the fading menu becomes and how prominent it is on a bright background.

Solution: Menus should fade to transparency just like it happens under compiz.

This problem still exists in Ubuntu 9.10 using gnome.
Only now, it fades to white? How is this a fix? Someone please reopen this bug.

Is this a pre-calculated alpha blending problem?
