Resuming from hibernate everything seems to work fine except USB devices (including my USB mouse).

I have attached output from syslog.

Notice the error messages, "startup error -19", concerning the usb controller.

Two comments:

The bug cannot be reproduced by suspending the laptop. Only by hibernate.

I am running the 2.6.15-14-386 kernel.

I can confirm this bug on a Samsung X20, same error message, removing uhci-hcd and ehci-hcd and inserting them again removes the problem.

I also confirm this. Thinkpad R40, 2722-6YU. See also bug #29634 which seems related. Vanilla 2.6.15.1 has the same problem.

With the new kernel (or new gnome-power-manager/dbus/hal) the problem seems to be gone.

Can one of you confirm this?

Martin, you are right. Upgrading to kernel 2.6.15-16-386 (in my case actually installing Dapper Drake Flight 4) fixes the problem.

One bug less in the upcoming rocking Ubuntu release :-)

Please undo this action if you still see the bug with an updated Dapper install.

My usb mouse is also not working after hibernation. I have installed Dapper Flight 6 (and have all the updates).

The machine is MSI S250 and my syslog doesn't show any usb-related events during hibernation and suspend.

If I unplug the mouse and put it back in, it starts to work.

I can confirm that the mouse is not working on my Samsung X20 after hibernating, after unplugging and putting it back, it works again, therefore reopening.

An interesting thing just happend to me:

I started the laptop without mouse and hibernated. Befor I restarted the laptop, I plugged in my USB mouse. After Hibernating, it worked without a problem, so the problem only occurs if the mouse was plugged in when hibernating.

I can not confirm this problem anymore, some things must have changed, does it work for you now?

Today I did an apt-get dist-upgrade and I can confirm that this problem doesn't exist anymore. My mouse is now working fine after a hibernation.
I think this bug can be closed again.

Thanks guys =)

P.S. Before the last upgrade the same thing happened to me that Martin mentions two posts above (2006-05-10).

This got broken again with recent updates =(

Couple of days ago I had both usb keyboard and mouse attached and neither did work after a hibernation. Yesterday this happened with only the mouse attached.

Too bad this happened so close to the release date.

I have an IBM T30 Laptop running Kubuntu 7.04.

Attached usb devices do not work after resuming from hibernate. This was working ok on 6.10
