Frequecy too high after installation with Nokia 446PRO + Geforce 420Mx

Not familiar with this kind of monitor but can you attach your Xorg.0.log and xorg.conf just in case so we can have a clearer overview of what's happening? It's mostly an issue with autoconfiguration I would say.

can you reproduce this problem using the lastet dapper or the nv free driver?

No, because I use only stable releases and I don't wanna mess my system anymore.

I haven't tried this with Dapper at all because I use only stable
releases. And yes, bug still exists with Breezy.

This fault really happens only when monitor is turned off and thus it
cannot offer signal to display adapter.

For reproducing this:

1. Turn off computer and monitor
2. Turn on computer but don't turn on monitor
3. Wait few minutes, until Ubuntu is booted to the login menu. Note: I
don't have standard login screen. So I changed some settings from System
-> Administration -> Login screen setup

General tab

Mode: Only One Theme
Happy GNOME with Browser

Other settings should be in order.

Confirmed, but set to minor because of limited impact, and easy workaround. Assigned to the ubuntu X Swat team.

We were wondering is this still an issue for you while using the latest stable version of Ubuntu? If it is, the newer X.org should generate more useful Xorg.0.log, could you please attach it? Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I don't have this monitor or GF420mx display adapter anymore (both sold year ago). Anyway I still use only Dapper Drake and I havent tried newer Ubuntu versions because I need LTS version.
