Bug Description

Distribution: Ubuntu 5.10 (breezy)
Package: nautilus
Severity: Normal
Version: GNOME2.12.1 2.12.1
Gnome-Distributor: Ubuntu
Synopsis: nautilus crashes when opening folder containg .svg file from Amaya
Bugzilla-Product: nautilus
Bugzilla-Component: general
Bugzilla-Version: 2.12.1
BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.12.0)
Description:
Description of the crash:

I have been testing Amaya, after exporting some shapes to ~.svg i
noticed very strange behavoir of Nautilus: everytime i open the
directory i saved that ~.svg before, Nautilus crashes. I made some further testing with move, rename and even copy - paste the content to new file but Nautilus keeps crashing everytime.
It seems that this happens while Nautilus is trying to generate the preview for the icon.

Steps to reproduce the crash:
1. download attached file 'nautilus_crash.svg' as to an new folder
2. open that folder with Nautilus
    after a second nautilus crashes

Expected Results:

How often does this happen? everytime

It seems that Nautilus has problem to generate the preview of the icon for the file. Mabye the svg content is bad - however this should not affect Nautilus.

Hi adaso,

Thanks for your bug report. In the future include the backtraces in an attachment, it makes reading the comments easier.

I've tested the current file in dapper the development release of ubuntu and the file can be previewed in nautilus and eog can view the file as well.

Changed in nautilus:
status: Unconfirmed → Fix Released

Thanks for your bug. Nautilus has no issue with that .svg on dapper, that's probably a librsvg issue which has been fixed since. Feel free to reopen if you still have the bug after upgrading

Lakin: backtrace as better to comment than attachments, it makes easier to read the bug comments (can read the mail, don't have to open an another page, ...) and to search for duplicates by example

Changed in nautilus:
assignee: nobody → desktop-bugs

Hi Sebastien,

thanks for response. After i'd learned that it is possible to change the bug report description. I'd tryed to do that in order to get rid of the backtraces. Nothing else sorry, my intenion was not to call more attention to that case.
