Bug Description

When trying to open kill.png, Eog stops drawing the image at about 70%. Although I can still move the mouse pointer, the mouse buttons and all keyboard keys have no effect, even Ctrl+Alt+Backspace.

Thanks for your bug. My dapper installation has no issue to open that file. What version of Ubuntu do you use? Does it happen if you try opening with some other viewer (gimp by example)? Do you have anything to /var/log/messages or /var/log/syslog about that?

The crash happens on a Breezy machine. Unfortunatly there is nothing in the logs. I actually created the image in the Gimp; this and other image viewers/editors work fine.

A system hang is not an application bug, that linux or xorg breaking somewhere, reassigning away from the package. The syslog messages or xorg logs should have something about it though

Displays fine here. Can you try it with the Dapper beta 2 live CD? If it still happens there, attach /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Not had a chance to test it yet unfortunately. I'll try it with a live
cd this weekend. I'll also try using the open source nv driver instead
of the proprietary nvidia one.

And with the open source 'nv' driver there is no X server lock up.

Probably an nvidia issue if that works fine when using the nv driver, reassigning
