Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-settings-daemon

While installing update packages (37 in total), laptop suddenly halted (out of battery).

After reboot, gnome-settings-daemon fails to install
message: E: /var/cache/apt/archives/gnome-settings-daemon_2.24.0-0ubuntu3.3_amd64.deb: files list file for package `gnome-settings-daemon' is missing final newline

Fixed the problem myself.

Completely removed gnome-settings-daemon paragraphs from files "available" and "status" in /var/lib/dpkg.
Then reinstalled the package through synaptic package manger and... voila!
