Bug Description

in Breezy up and down controlled the volume in rhythmbox, letting me trivially adjust volume as needed. Now up down seem to be confused with forward and back for positioning the song.

Thanks for your bug. What version of gnome-control-center is installed? Are the keys correctly configured from the keybindings capplet?

What keys?

Perhaps if I give the steps I used to use:
alt-tab to RB
up, or down to set volume
alt-F9 to minimise the window again.

I use this because AFAIK it did not alter the system wide volume, which
I *do not* wish to change, as its just right for jabber bleeps already.

Bug reporter has indicated that problem is in rhythmbox, reassigning to rhythmbox.

Thank you for your bug. Do you have the focus on the sound volume widget? Do you click on it first? What version of rhythmbox do you use?
