[jaunty][r128] xserver segfault on startup

Bug Description

Using Jaunty after daily update/upgrade (today with a lot of xserver upgrades) at restart

I get this monitor frequency error:

Analog
Out of Range
46.4/87Hz

i press ctrl+alt+"+"

i try the menu:

Configure low graphic mode

but i can't get any good low graphic mode gui

trying for a lot of times to reconfigure the xorg layer with any success...

Before updates my xorg-layer was running fine...

I confirm this bug. I use a ATI Rage 128 Pro ULTRA TF (AGP) and the failure backtrace is almost identical to the one of the reporter as seen in the attached log file.

I can also confirm this bug using the Jaunty Jackalope daily-live from 12-Jan-2009.

This bug seems to be related to bug 310075 in xserver-xorg-video-intel and bug 311544 in xserver-xorg-video-savage. They both involve crashes in DRIFinishScreenInit() within libdri.so and another unnamed function.
