Description: Ubuntu 8.04.1
Release: 8.04
When I directly downloaded & built the latest version of readpst (0.5.3), it handles this same PST file correctly. I notice that readpst 0.5.3 is present in 8.10. It doesn't seem to be available as a hardy-backport. As 8.04 is a long-term release, it would be wonderful if the more functional version 0.5.3 were available for it.
This might be related to Bug #78613, although the errors are not identical, and that version of readpst was 0.5.1.
Thank you for all your hard work on this package. It is appreciated!
Jeremy
Thank you for opening this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. First of all, I am sorry it took us that long to get to this bug.
We have moved from Debian's libpst to another fork:http:// www.five- ten-sg. com/libpst/, in the Jaunty cycle. Debian's version (0.5.2) has some problems with Outlook 2003 and later, and 5-10-sg addresses them (and is in active development). The current version (as of Karmic) is 0.6.41.
It may be possible to backport the new libpst 0.6.41 to Hardy; I will look into it.
