Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver
Hi all,
please verify this:
When using the gconf-editor as admin/root to set
/apps/gnome-
as mandatory setting, then in the screensaver-dialog the wrong option is disabled.
The "activate screensaver when computer is idle" is grayed out and the user can't change it in the dialog. When using a normal/non-admin gconf-editor session, the user can change the "/apps/
The "Lock screen when screensaver is active" is never grayed out. When a user uncheck it it seems that it doesn't change the behavior (lock screen) and when the dialog is reopened the box is marked (true) again.
So looks like only the wrong option is grayed out.

Tested on Ubuntu 8.10 i386 - all updates installed (18. Jan. '09)
gnome-screensaver 2.24.0-0ubuntu2
Thanks for the report, May you please get us a screensaver debug log? please do the following:
killall -9 gnome-screensaver
gnome-screensaver --no-daemon --debug > /tmp/gs.log 2>&1
Reproduce the issue and attach that resulting file to the report. Do you get the same with Jaunty? thanks in advance.
