[disks-admin] doesnt detect my partitions correctly

Bug Description

My root directory is on /dev/sda9 but in disks-admin "Partition 9" says its access path is /media/sda6. Partition 6 isn't shown at all.

I have a Thinkpad R52 with a "hidden" rescue and recovery partition that might confuse the program?

I'm using Dapper Flight 4 and the version of disks-admin is 2.13.2

Thanks for your bug. Could you attach your /etc/fstab and copy what "sudo fdisk -l /dev/sda" to a comment?

/etc/fstab and output of fdisk - /dev/sda

Something has happened with the disc, the output says "Compaq diagnostics
Partition 2 does not end on cylinder boundary." and "Partition table entries are not in disk order
" but disks-admin should still display the partitions correctly.

thank you for the log, I'll have a look on that code later and forward it upstream then

I guess I'm kind of surprised this one isn't considered to be of "Critical" severity. On my Dapper machine, disks-admin shows /dev/hda7 as if it is /dev/hda5. As one of the functions of disks-admin is to format partitions, this could allow people to make particularly nasty mistakes.

Martin, the issue is that we get lot of bugs for the number of people working on them so we have to prioritize work. Work from contributors getting the issue on their box would be welcome for that one.

from a duplicate:

"If two partitions are inadvertently labelled with the same name (e.g. using e2label) only one of them is visible in Disks Manager."

Marking as invalid, as disks-admin was removed from gnome-system-tools in ubuntu a long time ago.
