post-installation script returns error code 2 on amd64

same problem for i386

Here is the trace in english:

The problem happens after an update, but also after a fresh new installation.

The bug prevent from configuring or removing the package.

Developers determine their priorities...

I have this problem on x86 (not amd64). With more verbosity, dpkg shows this:

the patch proposed on bug #42632 worked fine for me.

I think these 2 bugs are only one.

as this seems to be a common-problem, I'd really like to have it fixed, too.
The package is broken and manual fixing may be a good temporary solution, but is not a good solution for the future. Please do not let everybody wait for edgy, because a lot of people I know want to use dapper because of the LTS.
