Bug Description

Hi!

It would be great to get the mh2 patch from bluez.org included in future kernels as this solved *ALL* bluetooth related problems I was having.

These problems were:

DiNovo media keys not working
Unable to pair using Logitech DiNovo mouse cradle

I can confirm this. I used the mh2 patch set on 2.6.15 for my Gentoo box with great success. Especially with my dinovo keyboard/mouse/media pad. I haven't been able to get this fully functional (auto connecting on reboot being the biggest problem).

Everything is all working fine in the recent Dapper kernels.

Thanks kernel guys! :-)

I can confirm this second comment by Jason -- thanks Ubuntu devs.

Realized after getting the kernel source and trying to apply the patch that it was already applied.

I then realized I needed to modify /etc/default/bluez-utils. Setting HIDD_ENABLED to 1 (from the default 0).

I'm running 2.6.15-22-amd64-k8 #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun May 7 16:15:46 UTC 2006 x86_64 GNU/Linux and still have problems with hidd. I get the following dmesg log when running hidd
"[ 162.406918] Bluetooth: HIDP (Human Interface Emulation) ver 1.1-mh1". It seems to me that this kernel is not patched, or am I missing something?

I have only tested with i386 version (SMP) version of the kernel. It could be that they haven't patched the 64 bit version yet. Have you tried to apply the patch by hand?
