Bug Description
I have tried to install Jaunty Alpha 4 from Desktop and Alternate CDs on a ThinkPad W500 containing a primary Windows Vista NTFS partition (/dev/sda1) and an extended partition (/dev/sda2) with swap (/dev/sda5), root (/dev/sda6) and home (/dev/sda7). After finishing partitioning, the installer on the Desktop CD simply restarts with keyboard configuration. No error message. Trying the Alternate CD, applying the disk partitioning fails on /dev/sda5. The installation program suggests a reboot for the kernel to use the updated partition table -> same problem after that. The problem even persists when configuring the partitioning program not to use the swap partition.
On a console, I have found out that udev has re-created an entry for /dev/sda1, but not for the partitions in my extended partition (i.e. /dev/sda5, etc.. These entries have been deleted.).
