Pushing an update of a stacked branch to Launchpad sometimes takes nearly an hour

Weird, it appears to be walking back through history one revision at a time... it should do 50 at a time IIRC. Hmm!

I just did another local commit to the branch and then pushed it up. The same thing is happening all over again.

I don't get the problem with 1.12. There, it only takes a minute to push up a one-line change.

FWIW, I've seen this occasionally with earlier versions, probably last noticed with 1.9 or 1.10. I haven't yet seen it with 1.12.

Thanks Barry, that would fit. Andrew and I suspect the fixes to invoke hooks correctly in bzrlib for smart branches. For now please do use 1.12, we'll get a fix in for sure this cycle, but it may be a few days (we have some structural work to finish that needs to land early).

Robert and I have landed a change that should fix this. Leaving as "In Progress" pending confirmation from jml that it actually fixes his problem.

Works for me:
