Bug Description
I just got an error message from Launchpad in response to a review mail that I sent. The error message says:
Error message:
Sorry, something went wrong when Launchpad tried processing your mail.
We've recorded what happened, and we'll fix it as soon as possible.
Apologies for the inconvenience.
If this is blocking your work, please file a question at
https:/
and include the error ID OOPS-1147CEMAIL1 in the description.
Using my special Launchpad developer super powers, I looked at the OOPS and saw that the error is actually:
Invalid signature for Jonathan Lange <email address hidden>: Signature couldn't be verified: (7, 8, 'Bad signature')
There are two problems here:
1. Launchpad is reporting an OOPS for what fundamentally amounts to typing bad information into a web form.
2. Launchpad does not give the user any helpful information about the error whatsoever.
