Failures in abort (and handleException() in general) lose the original problem

Bug Description

If there is an error during the abort() of handleException, the original exception is lost. We should at least logs it (and maybe attempt to record an OOPS for it).

This is also the case with other exceptions occuring during handleException before the OOPS is logged.
