Bug Description

I attempted to install the ubuntu-server powerpc
dialy build from yesterday on a headless Xserve
G5 system (serial console, no internal cd) via an
external firewire cd. The installation gets as far
as loading the ram disk, then hangs at

 DO-QUIESCE finished

The installation was started with the following boot
line:

 boot: expert-powerpc64 video=ofonly console=ttyS0,57600

by comparison, on debian testing the installation
continues past this point successfully.

gentoo 2006.0 has the same problem. It appears to be due to
missing serial drivers for slightly older Xserve models. see gentoo

FYI, I tried the dapper sever build from 4/24 and it still
hangs after DO-QUIESCE finished
