Bug Description

I installed the drivers (apt-get nvidia-glx, nvidia-xconfig). 3d acceleration works, but text in firefox 1.5.0.1 (also sometimes in other applications like nautilus, but mainly here) often looks like this:
http://img240.imageshack.us/my.php?image=namenlos6ay.jpg
(the menu bar looks ok)

by selecting the text with the mouse, it looks as it should again ... It seems to affect only Arial normal (not Arial Bold or Italic)?

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Everything is up to date.

Does firefox work fine if you go back to your old xorg.conf?
Yes.

This is something that only NVIDIA can really fix. It's been known for a while that RenderAccel can be unpredicatable (there are warnings in all the docs). I believe NVIDIA said this is because there was no test suite to check XRENDER acceleration behaviour against.

For me it only happens with fonts for which I have antialiasing turned off via /etc/fonts/local.conf

Is this any better with the 8756 drivers?
