something's changed recently, that is preventing all my mono based programs from working.

this is dapper (kept very up to date)

hmm, just upgraded to newest mono (ubuntu rev, i.e. today's), and things are "better"

beagle seems to run.

banshee exits with a more understandable error

Are you running any packages compiled by hand and installed into /usr/local or use some third-party repositories?

What platform are you running on? x86?

I was using x86 and the plain ubuntu programs, but with the newest mono packages it works again.

nothing changed on my part beyond upgrading the relevant ubuntu packages.
