No .desktop file installed

Yeap, it does not include a .desktop file.

Here's a .xpm file I created, got the 'fv' off of the main site. Here's the innards of a fv.desktop file:

[Desktop Entry]
Type=Application
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=fv
GenericName=FITS editor
Comment=Edits FITS format files
Icon=fv.xpm
TryExec=fv
Exec=fv
Terminal=false
Categories=Application;Science;

Sorry, I don't know how to make patches -- hope this helps.

The name field should probably include more detail, e.g:

name=fv FITS [Format] Editor

Thanks Phil and Nicholas. I was going to upload this but it turns out fv has some more serious issues at the moment - it doesn't build from source :(
Even more tragic, it appears the Debian maintainer has died (very sad) and so the package was up for adoption.[1] Recently someone has offered to adopt it in Debian so I'm hoping the FTBFS [2] issue can be fixed. In the mean time I'm going to file a bug in the Debian BTS with the .desktop and .xpm so they can be included upstream.

I created a new .desktop file for fv (along with about 50 others), so I've attached it anyway, despite there being one already attached.
