I will release a minor version with few more bugfixes (0.90.1) maybe in the next week, but update to 0.90.0 as soon as possible since updating later to a minor version should not be a problem.
You can track the changes here: http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/murrine/trunk/

Quite late in the cycle for this, but it is an improvement without any real cost.

It seems this is already being taken care of and is in the sponsoring queue

I'm not sure which bug I should mark as a duplicate of which so I'll just mention this here - there's a similar bug at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk2-engines-murrine/+bug/344154

Can you follow up on bug 344154 with your changes and get the ubuntu-release team involved in the decision?

@Khashay: Thanks for your work and makin ubuntu better. Can you please next time go to #ubuntu-desktop on freenode for all desktop related stuff? We centralized the work there.

We are also using bzr for packaging, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DesktopTeam/Bzr.
Just a few remarks about your update:
- we generally don't bump the standard version, this is extra diff with debian for nothing.
- if you look at upstream changelog, it is mentionned that libgtk2.0-dev should be 2.16.0 (even if it's not in configure.in file)
- I think you didn't add a debian watch (there was already one), but adapt it the right location.

Good for removing quilt as there is no patch, didn't see that.

Have a look at bug 344154, I mentionned the work I merge from yours in the changelog.
I close this bug as duplicated so that status can be synchronized. Thanks a lot for you work!

I have released 0.90.1, it is a bugfix release, it doesn't introduce visible changes.
You can grab this or not, as it won't break themes and won't affect stability.

Overview of Changes in 0.90.1 (since 0.90.0)
============================================
Changes in this release:
- High roundness values are now correctly limited.
- Use focus_color in draw_entry if the theme uses it.
- Removed shadows from GtkCombo and GtkComboBoxEntry.
- Code polishing and bugfixing.
