Bug Description

My wired connection name keeps resetting to "auto eth0" everytime I unplug and replug it in.

Ubuntu 8.10, NetworkManager Applet 0.7.0

do you have a chance to verify that this is fixed in jaunty? Also on intrepid you can try the latest packages from the network-manager team ppa - which should fix this as well.

I added the team's ppa to sources in intrepid and installed all the updates and rebooted. I can't tell if this is fixed or not because it won't let me edit my wired connection's name. It's stuck to "auto eth0" and I can't remove it or edit anything about it because it says it's "read-only". Network-Manager applet's version is still 0.7.0, but I don't know about the daemon.
