Bug Description

"compiz.real: No stencil buffer. Clipping of transformed windows is not going to be correct when screen is transformed"

while using radeon mobility M6 (dell C610 laptop), running Xgl and then compiz returns this error. compiz runs, and i can use the gl tranformation effects, but text is not displayed (in gnome-terminal) and images are garbled. the only way to see text in gnome-terminal is to minimize/maxmize the window, then return to original state. then you appear to get a 'snapshot' of the terminal text when you performed the resize.
it is not interactively viewable.

system is a current dapper install.

i think the following lines explain the problem;

(WW) RADEON(0): [dri] limiting video memory to one aperture of 65536K
(WW) RADEON(0): [dri] detected radeon kernel module version 1.19 but 1.23 or newer is required for full memory
mapping.

(EE) RADEON(0): Static buffer allocation failed. Disabling DRI.
(EE) RADEON(0): At least 17325 kB of video memory needed at this resolution and depth.

the selected display settings are 1400x1050@24bpp

Looks like there used to be a version mismatch... probably is fixed now in the stable releases.
