Bug Description

Binary package hint: digikam

When installing digikam (package: digikam-2:0.10.0-1ubuntu2) under Kubuntu Jaunty Beta for i386 (freshly installed), I get a dependency error message, stating that libgpod4-nogtk-0.7.0-1ubuntu1 conflicts.
Removal of this package also removes amarok (package: amarok-2:2.0.2mysql5.1.30-0ubuntu2).
After installation of digikam, amarok can be safely reinstalled and the package libgpod4-0.7.0-1ubuntu1 is installed for dependency instead of libgpod4-nogtk.

This is only a problem if you use KpackageKit to do the install. If you install via CLI and apt-get, this will be taken care of. I have digikam running without loosing Amarok.

So this is a bug in KpackageKit. As I prefer a good GUI myself, I find it strange the KpackageKit can not do exactly the same as apt-get.

I can confirm this bug. Doing it manually with "sudo apt-get install digikam" works. If I can provide further information to help fix this please let me know what you need.

I also confirm this bug. I can also confirm that using Adept will successfully install Digikam and retain Amarok with functionality.

I guess this bug could be closed, as aptcc (default backend) has the same resolution code as apt-get.
