Bug Description

After installing Dapper, my system freezes after a random time (somewhere between 2min and 30min). My hardware has always worked "flawlessly" in warty, hoary and breezy, but the freeze has always taken place in any version of Dapper.
If I use the standard nv driver and delete the watchdog modules, then the system doesn't freeze anymore, but it kills my internet-connection with rebooting as the only answer.

after installing dapper again, and updating him, the freeze stays away. If I install nvidia-glx with its dependency's the freeze come's back. If I boot into single mode everything works fine, but when I let him enter "init 2" the freeze happens again.

So with nvidia, everything works in single, but I have a bash running as root...

if I boot using "quiet single" the system freezes
if I boot using "quiet splash single" the system doesnt freeze as long as I dont let him "init 2"

I fixed both the bugs by booting with "noapic".
So I think kernel-source was to blame..
