Bug Description

Binary package hint: multimon

Multimon package needs sox when you want to decode audio from files other than raw audio/soundcard input.

I suggest to add sox at least in the suggested dependences list.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I confirm that package multimon should suggest package 'sox' since it can use sox internally (though sox is not required for normal use of multimon).

I note also that Ubuntu's version of multimon is not the latest available, however the latest version (multimon 1.0-5) likewise does not suggest package 'sox'.

Changed in multimon (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed
summary: - sox dependence missing

After a more thorough inspection, I find that this issue was already fixed upstream in multimon 1.0-5 (sox was added as a dependency, not just a suggests) and is included in the forthcoming Ubuntu release (Lucid). Thanks again for your bug report.

multimon (1.0-5) unstable; urgency=low

  * Include newer gen.c and xdisplay.c versions from Thomas Sailer
    dated 2009-03-24. (Closes: #247857)
  * Include Joerg Woelke's patch to run sox correctly. (Closes: #536228)
  * depend upon sox. (Closes: #555391)
  * The man pages added in 1.0-4 must help,
    no recent complaints. (Closes: #205003)
