Bug Description

Binary package hint: gvfs

I see this on Jaunty.

To reproduce:

1) Go to some Windows share in nautilus
2) Start to copy some large file
3a) Pull the network plug, wait 10 Secs, replug it
 -OR-
3b) shut down the remote computer

=> gvfsd-smb hangs at 100% CPU
=> You can't disconnect the share
=> All smb access is broken
=> You have to kill gvfsd-smb to recover

The attached backtrace shows that it seems to spin somewhere around __GI___poll.

Same with Lucid when opening a server. gvfsd-smb causes the processor to run at 100% until ended with System Monitor.

Accessing the root of a local samba share (list of about 8 files) does not cause the 100%. Trying to open one of these subfolders pegs the CPU at 100% and requires that the process be killed. This is from Lucid. Accessing the share from a karmic laptop is fine.

Lucid - Same here, and can't always open a folder on the network drive, says it's loading but never finishes. Have to kill gvfsd-smb to reduce cpu usage each time also.

Mine was working, but after doing a partial upgrade, was broken again. I was told to do a dist-upgrade which I did but that didn't fix the problem, and trying to access an NAS drive drives CPU usage to 100% showing 'gvfsd-smb-browse' to be the cause. Cancelling the request, CPU usage returns to normal after killing 'gvfsd-smb-browse' when an error message appears stating "Unable to mount location - DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus) In addition, I frequently have to type a keyring password initially, which I don't remember having to do when all was working well.

Since an update this weekend the bug seem gone.

All smb-mounts with nautilus work as aspected. How about others having this issue?
