liferea UI freezes when updating feeds

Bug Description

Binary package hint: liferea

Ubuntu 9.04 amd64,
liferea 1.4.26-0ubuntu1

when updating feeds, the UI temporarily freezes. The result is that I cannot use liferea when it is updating feeds.

What I expect is that the GUI and the feed-update run in different threads, so the GUI should stay responsive, especially on a multi-core machine.

So, I have the same problem equally on Ubuntu 10.10 with Liferea 1.6.3.
Thanks for your help to make Ubuntu system better.

Nice work for all Ubuntu team, it's must be not really easy allways to improve the system...
