Bug Description
I have a Compro DVB-T300[1]. Digital television works fine, but analogue TV usually doesn't work, and almost always doesn't tune. My brother has the same issue with the same card in his PC, but curiously has found that running "scan /usr/share/
I've managed to work around this problem by altering `/etc/modprobe.
install saa7134 /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install saa7134 $CMDLINE_OPTS && { /sbin/modprobe --quiet --use-blacklist saa7134-alsa ; : ; }
I've put the following lines:
# Load saa7134-alsa instead of saa7134 (which gets dragged in by it anyway)
install saa7134 /sbin/modprobe --ignore-install saa7134 $CMDLINE_OPTS && { sleep 1 ; /sbin/modprobe --quiet --use-blacklist saa7134-alsa ; : ; }
# Added by Andrew
options saa7134 card=70 tuner=0
The "sleep" command is the same workaround as for bug #56801. That bug is fixed for me in Jaunty - I've reintroduced the workaround specifically because it's required to fix this issue.
"card=70" is a device-specific workaround I've taken from [1]. It seems to be necessary, and in any case, fixes what I currently believe to be bug #349537 for me.
"tuner=0" is also device-specific, and I'm pretty sure it's also necessary.
To reiterate, none of the above is necessary to get DVB-T working with this card, except as it relates to bug #349537. The above is a workaround solely for analogue TV.

Hi Andrew,
This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? Can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http:// cdimage. ubuntu. com/releases/ lucid.
If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications- >Accessories- >Terminal) . It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.
apport-collect -p linux 374184
Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https:/ /wiki.ubuntu. com/KernelMainl ineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs- upstream- testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs- upstream- testing' text. Please let us know your results.
Thanks in advance.
