Bug Description

After installing kubuntu daily build (2006-03-29) on an iBook G3, I ran the KDE language selector and "Chinese" was already checked, and the default language was "Chinese (China)"

I clicked OK, but nothing happened, probably because the box was already checked. It did not install language-support-zh.

When I added korean, it installed korean language support.

Thanks for your bugreport!

There are (at least) two bugs here:
1. the box shouldn't be complettly checked, but in a half-checked state if language-pack-kde-zh was missing
2. If language-pack-kde-zh was missing it should come up with a dialog box asking if you want to install this missing lang-pack now.

Cheers,
 Michael

The latest upload should have fixed problem 1).

But the remaining issue 2) needs still to be fixed.

Changing the priority because missing bits are marked as "inconsitent" (half-installed) and can be installed fully by clicking on the button.

This bug has a high importance setting and is targeted for 6.10, but hasn't been touched in a while and it seems unclear what the problem is.

Michael, what's your assessment?

It was set like this as a reminder to myself to get it done before edgy. Unfortunately I didn't managed :/

I will remove the target and set it to medium (might even be wishlist) because we have a "inconsitent" toggle setting in the list now. This means that a not fully installed language support is visible and can be easily fixed by clicking onto it.

update-notifier-kde now takes care of this.
update-notifier-kde is broken at the moment due to a bug, but that bug has already been filed separately.
