Bug Description
Ubuntu 9.10 (x86) with samba 3.3.2 (Version: 2:3.3.2-1ubuntu3).
Samba starts and waits for a client to connect, as soon as I try to connect samba exists. I have a very basic smb.conf which I'll ad to the report.
This happens consistently. I've looked through the log files but nothing really stands out.

I suppose you mean 9.04. samba/smb. conf) ?
What is the client you're using to connect ? Does a simple smbclient -N -L //servername sufficient to stop it ? Could you try with an unmodified smb.conf (copy it from /usr/share/
