Colour clash in icons on the Places menu and the desktop

Bug Description

I'm going to edit the description to make this bug more focused, and reopen it. Sorry for the confusion.

We all know that these icons are too orange. However, there is a specific problem I'd like to draw attention to: in the Places menu and on the Desktop, the orange icons appear alongside a number of white/silver/blue icons, and this causes a striking contrast which can only be described as a bug. I'll attach a screenshot, note the conflict between these colours.

I've noticed other bugs on this topic have been closed for including too many bug reports in one. Please let me know if I should file these separately, I will be happy to do so. If necessary, treat this report as dealing with the keyboard/trash can problem.

Thanks for your bug report. It is as you said in your comment: too many complaints in one bug report - it's not easy to follow up on this, apart from that:
the wastebasket bug is bug 35811, but keyboard bug is bug 35910.

I hope this screenshot illustrates what I mean.

I think this is independent of any theme. If you set the Tango theme as your prefered icon set, and look at the 'Places' menu you see predominately blue icons... because those are on the colour palette, and the same applies for the new Human icons.

The prefered icon set can always be altered and changed to one's liking. :)

Bug is still present. It looks a _lot_ better with tangerine though,
because the icons in the places menu are miles more subtle.

<3 tangerine.
