Thank you for your bug report! I was able to reproduce this error. Can you try the following steps and let me know if this solves the problem for you?

1) Click on the menu "System" and select "Preferences->Preferred Applications"
2) Set the drop down under the "Browser" label to "Firefox"
3) Click the "Close" button
4) Click on the "Applications" menu and select "Internet->Ubuntu One"
5) Firefox should launch and you should see a page asking you to "Add This Computer"

I had this problem on Ubuntu 9.10 on a fresh install. Right clicking and then clicking connect would bring a error popup saying it couldn't execute the browser. I followed your fix and it'd worked fine.

Marking as Won't Fix as this is not an Ubuntu One bug as much as it is the default browser not being set correctly in Ubuntu (not sure of the exact cause based on the report) and there is a fix documented in comment #1.

Changed in ubuntuone-client:
status: Confirmed → Won't Fix
