Launchpad couldn't support drupal bug tracker

Bug Description

When I try registering the drupal issue tracker as new external bug tracker it's not possible.

Drupal issue tracker should be a new bug tracker type.

Is this http://drupal.org/project/issues the right one? Is it a custom bug tracker based on drupal? Do you have links to documentation on how to programmatically access this bug tracker?

Yes, http://drupal.org/project/issues is the bug tracker for Drupal (both core and contributed modules). But it doesn't seems to provide any API. The closest think to are the RSS feeds it provides. But I doubt it will be enough to allow integration into Launchpad.

It is possible to integrate bug trackers that don't offer APIs or exports with Launchpad, though it's never pretty and is usually done by screen-scraping the bug tracker.

Does the Drupal bug tracker offer any way to grab an export of a given set of bugs, say in XML or CSV format? I couldn't see anything when I looked, but I was only glancing quickly and didn't have time to dig around.

The issue tracker on drupal.org now has a JSON API for getting basic information about changes to tickets. For more information check out https://drupal.org/node/112805#comment-5654478
